My work is in a group show at the Antebellum Gallery, Los Angeles, entitled Fools For Feet and it is dedicated to the beauty of the the sole. Exhibit runs through May 3rd. There are also several events surrounding the exhibit. antebellum.us.ms.

I have taken many pictures of shoes over the years. The cover of my book Bernadinism: How to Dominate Men and Subjugate Women (Stemmle 2001), is a shoe picture. I am self taught and it took me 18 months from starting photography to having my current style and the third picture I took in this current style was a Pollock pattern shoe from Fiorruci. Although I am not a fetishist, just by holding the stiletto and dwelling on what sort of picture to make of it, I could feel how beautiful, simple, timeless and, indeed, sexy the shape was. I made several pictures of myself with that shoe and called the series The Fetish. They went on to win the Vogue/Sotheby’s Cecil Beaton Award.
